Thus, due to the need in taking care of a team, there is a need for hard managerial people jobs. But it is not always simple to have this.

The next part of the tasks they play is on the special side. Infosec managers need to be the head of the analyst.

Thus, they need to be able in imposing any Infosec situations. Then, make the right actions needed in each one.

But it does not only mean being able to react to incidents. It also includes:

  • evaluating security plans for any flaws
  • analyzing threat news
  • focusing security to more delicate data
  • managing security tests to areas where problems may arise

Then, another role they need to choose is being a communicator. Why? Because they need to be able to interact with other teams and directors.

Infosec issues and warnings do not only care about the IT department. So, Infosec managers need to tell the whole company of any risks and warnings.

Also, they need to make sure that everyone in the group serves the Infosec systems.

Infosec managers also have a lot of duties. And most of the time, these are higher-level jobs only they can do. What are these?

  • giving infosec training to all workers
  • leading security team members
  • training new security team members
  • making and performing security plans
  • managing internal or third-party audits
  • seeing the funds and costs for attending tech training
  • being the point of touch for any security concerns
  • charging systems and finding any weak points for upgrades or updates
  • making and taking care of physical security, disaster return, and more

Of course, these are only the central ones. It may change per company.
